The room is filled with Amazon instructors helping students who are preparing to pass any of the AWS Certifications available to computer professionals. Students gathered together and alone around monitors, reviewing material, learning code, becoming experts in the AWS platform. IT professionals from all over the world came to the Las Vegas Sands Expo Convention Center to network, learn and teach, see new products, hear keynote lectures from industry titans, and generally to advance their careers.
Instead of using a drone to capture this high-view photo (which would be illegal, dangerous and stupid inside of a hotel ballroom) I used my poor man's drone, my camera mounted atop a monopod tethered to a tablet running software that shows a live view of what the camera is seeing. This allows me to compose the shot properly, change the point of focus, and press the shutter when I'm ready.
My poor man's drone has nearly all the advantages of a fancy FLYING drone, with none of the noise and shredding potential.
