This slow-shutter photo captures the energy and motion of a crowd of IT professionals rushing from one event to another at AWS re:Invent 2019 at the Sands Expo Convention Center in Las Vegas. With a shutter speed of 1/6 of a second, it was necessary to use a tripod to make this photo. Usually a blurry photo is considered a bad photo, but when the blur intentionally conveys the urgency and energy of a major event, especially when the blur is juxtaposed against a sharp solid element, the photo is a win. This photo clearly shows the AWS smile logo behind a crowd of people rushing past on their way to the next event.
